Tennis Terms and Conditions
We want you to enjoy your time at our leisure centres. To make the most of your Tennis lessons, please read our terms and conditions.
These terms and conditions shall apply to the Agreement between the person enrolled onto the Be Well Tennis (“the Customer”) and The London Borough of Tower Hamlets trading under the name Be Well (“Be Well”).
Where the persons enrolled onto the Tennis lesson is under the age of 16, the Customer shall be deemed to be the responsible Parent/Guardian who signs the Agreement on their behalf.
By being enrolled on the Be Well Tennis lessons you agree to the following terms and conditions:
- Direct debits set up under Tennis will be called on or around the 1st of each month. On your bank statement this payment will show up as London Tower Borough of Hamlets.
- If your direct debit collection fails on the 1st of the month, we will reattempt to collect this on 18th of the month.
- The direct debit payments will be collected on a rolling basis until we receive notification of your cancellation by email at be-well@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
- We do not accept cancellations over the phone.
- Tennis lessons may be subject to annual price increase.
- Customers paying by direct debit will be given 10 working days’ prior notice in writing of any increase to the fees.
- The minimum age for the payer of a direct debit is 18 years of age.
- Non-attendance or missed weeks by the customer will not be subject to a refund, except in accordance with Clause 9 below.
- Be Well reserves the right to change or cancel the programme, sessions or facilities at any time and for any reason, without prior notice where necessary.
- If you wish to change the time and day of your lessons, please do this at the centre’s reception.
- Where Be Well considers that it is reasonable, it shall reimburse the customer for the cost of a cancelled lesson.
- Where this occurs, the monthly direct debit amount for the subsequent month will be adjusted to reflect the cancelled class (reductions will show within a two-month period). Be Well will not be responsible for expenditure undertaken or loss incurred by the customer in connection with a cancellation or change by the council.
- Once a child is enrolled on to our Tennis Lessons, it is the responsibility of the customer, or parent or guardian if the customer is under 18 years of age, to ensure that the centre is made aware of any changes to child’s personal circumstances, including health, address and contact details (telephone number, email address).
- A parent or carer must remain on the premises at all times while their child is participating in Tennis lessons. Failure to do so is a breach of Health and Safety regulations.
- A customer may request that we freeze their Tennis Lessons membership if their child is temporarily unable to continue participating for medical reasons. Reasonable evidence to support your request is required with all freeze requests. If we agree to your request, we will activate the freeze from the date we receive that evidence.
- The maximum freeze period is one month after which the direct debit will be automatically reactivated.
- Upon the freeze commencing you will automatically be removed from the lesson and are required to rebook towards the end of your freeze period. The customer’s place on the Tennis lessons cannot be guaranteed beyond the one month freeze period.
- Requests to freeze direct debits must be made in writing or by email to the Course Coordinator at be-well@towerhamlets.gov.uk.
- When the agreed freeze period ends, the direct debit will automatically deduct the agreed monthly amount.
- Please ensure that you observe all the centre rules which shall apply to this agreement and can be found on the Be Well website.
- Spectators are only permitted in the correct viewing area.
- Be Well Tennis operate a continuous assessment programme for 50 weeks of the year. There is a two-week break over the Christmas period. Dates will be confirmed via email.
- All teaching staff are appropriately qualified, and DBS checked.
- Be Well accepts no liability for loss, damage to, or theft of any personal belongings or things whatsoever brought onto Be Well premises.
- Appropriate comfortable clothing and footwear must be worn.
- Be Well reserves the right to eject any person if it considers in its absolute discretion that they are not complying with these terms and conditions.
- Tennis Classes are 60 minutes in length which includes five minutes for registration and set up.
If you wish to cancel your Tennis Lessons Direct Debit you can do so by emailing: be-well@towerhamlets.gov.uk. You must give one month’s notice when cancelling your Tennis Lessons.
If we are informed by your bank that the direct debit arrangement has been cancelled, the customer’s place on the lessons will be suspended and they will no longer be eligible to attend the lessons until alternative payment arrangements have been made.
