How do I transfer my existing membership from GLL to Be Well?
Your existing membership will be automatically transferred to Be Well with the same low monthly payment amount. You will not need to do anything, we will take care of it.
After the GLL transfer, do I have to make any changes to my existing direct debit payments?
GLL will claim your direct debit from you as usual in the month of April and this will cover you for the usual period. Your first direct debit will be collected by Be Well on 1 June 2024, with all subsequent direct debits being collected on the first day of each month going forward.
You don’t need to do anything, you will simply have a different reference on your bank statement.
Your May membership fee will be reduced to reflect the closure period.
I have a membership but cannot access facilities during the shutdown period. Will I be recompensed?
We are closing from 1 May and reopening on 7 May to make some improvements to our facilities and service. We will be reducing your direct debit amount on 1 May to compensate for the time you are not able to use the centre.
How can I apply for a Be Well membership?
We have a great range of memberships for you to pick. Whichever membership you choose, you will no longer be restricted to one centre - you can now use it across all Be Well facilities in Tower Hamlets for the same monthly price!
Once we officially launch, you can join online using our website or by coming into one of our centres. If you would like more details on memberships in the meantime, please get in touch by completing our contact form.
When will the Be Well app be ready to download?
We’re working on developing our app so you can easily book gym, swim and fitness classes and discover exclusive events tailored to your interests. Our app will launch in summer 2024.
Can I purchase a day pass?
If you want to try our facilities, you will be able to purchase short term membership options ranging from 1, 7, 14 and 30 days, for a one-off fee. Once we launch, this can be purchased through our website or at one of our centres.
Can I use my Be Well membership outside of Tower Hamlets?
Your Be Well membership currently enables you to use all our great centres within Tower Hamlets. We have a wide range of facilities, offers and activities and are committed to shape Be Well for your needs.
Will I receive a new membership card?
Yes, you will receive a new membership card when you come in to use one of our leisure centres. With improvements to our booking system, you can also access our facilities via a QR code on your Be Well app. Details on how to download the app will become available once we launch.
Does the changeover affect my existing course, lesson or class booking?
All existing lessons, courses and group exercise class bookings will be honoured after we transfer. The centres will be closed for some exciting improvements from 1-6 May, reopening 7 May and your direct debit payment will be reduced for any missed classes.
Will there be changes to my child’s swimming programme?
All swimming lessons will remain the same initially. Be Well are moving over to the nationally endorsed Swim England criteria for an improved lesson experience. More details on this will become available once we launch.
How do I hire facilities?
We have a range of facilities for hire. Whether you are looking to hold a meeting, a sports event or a live concert, we have got the space for you.
