Junior gym Terms and Conditions

The junior membership terms and conditions should be used in conjunction with the general Be Well membership terms and conditions.

  1. Health and safety
  • All junior members must undergo a gym induction before starting any fitness activities at the gym. A parent signature is required to confirm that the member is fit to participate in exercise activities.
  • The gym staff reserve the right to assess whether any junior member is fit to use certain equipment or participate in specific activities.
  • If you experience any discomfort or injury during your workout, stop immediately and inform a staff member.
  1. Equipment usage
  • Junior members are not permitted to use free weights (dumbbells, barbells, etc.) under the age of 16 years old, or engage in any exercises that involve heavy lifting unless actively supervised by a parent.
  • Junior members are encouraged to use cardiovascular machines (treadmills, stationary bikes, ellipticals, etc.) and resistance machines (machines designed for safe strength training with low resistance). During the induction, proper guidance will be provided on how to use the equipment.
  • All equipment must be used in accordance with the instructions provided by staff. Please ask for assistance if you are unsure how to operate any machine.
  • For safety reasons, never use machines that are put out of order.
  • If any equipment is broken, report any issues to a staff member immediately.
  1. Appropriate footwear
  • All junior members are required to wear closed-toe, non-slip athletic shoes that are suitable for exercise.
  • Flip-flops, sandals, or other open-toe footwear are not permitted in the gym, as they do not provide adequate support or safety during workouts.
  • Socks are required to be always worn with footwear when using the machines to prevent any potential slipping or injury.
  1. Junior timetable schedule
  • Junior members must follow the designated junior gym timetable schedule for access to the gym. Each Be Well facility runs their own junior gym timetable, available at reception and on the website.
  • Juniors over 11 years old are allowed to attend junior gym sessions.
  • The junior gym timetable schedule can vary depending on term times – information will be updated and made available on the website.
  • Junior members must vacate the gym immediately when junior gym times end to ensure that peak time members can begin their sessions without disruption.
  1. Conduct and behaviour
  • Respect the gym space and other members. Disruptive behaviour or failure to follow the centre rules and staff instructions may result in a warning or removal from the facility.
  • Always clean up after using equipment. Wipe down machines and dispose of any waste in the designated bins.
  • Parents are responsible for ensuring their child adheres to these rules and behaves in a respectful manner during their scheduled junior gym hours.
  1. Parental/guardian responsibility
  • It is the responsibility of the parent or guardian to ensure that their child follows these rules and behaves in a safe and respectful manner in the facility which they’re attending.
